Silver Lake or Srebrno Jezero is an artificial lake which is one of the most popular holiday resorts in Serbia every year. It is located 110 kilometers from Belgrade. Visitors can also enjoy aqua park, a large number of restaurants and playgrounds, as well as the undisputed beauty of the lake water and the coast. There is no silver in the lake, but at sunset, the surface of the lake is so scorched that it gives the impression that it is silver.
Srebrno Jezero has gained its popularity four decades ago, opening a car camp and a hotel “Silver Lake” and was a paradise for fishermen and domestic tourists who came to this “Serbian silver sea” every year. The lake covers an area of 4km 2, reaches a length of 14 km, a width of about 300 m, and a depth of 8 m. Congress, sports, tourist and recreational content is offered to tourists as well as aqua park, tourist boat, dock for boats, numerous bars, restaurants … Cruise to the Danube is possible with a boat that has three destinations: Golubac fortress, Ramski fort and the mouth of the river Pek, and during the cruise, tourists have the opportunity to see Veliko Gradiste – a coastal settlement in which almost every house represents a small factory of metal products, and in the immediate vicinity a river island of Moldova, which is protected by law and on which 72 species of birds were found.
Near the Srebrno Jezero there is a large number of cultural and historical monuments: the 12th-century Raman fortress, the Golubac fortress, the Tuman Monastery, the Nimik Monastery, the Lepenski Vir archaeological site and the Viminacium Archaeological site.
The Silver Lake is certainly a picnic area where you can spend the hot summer days, and once you go, we are sure you will come back again.
